TROFELIA Promoting Food: Supporting Imvros High School for the Third Consecutive Year

For the third consecutive year, TROFELIA Promoting Food proudly supports education and the younger generation by actively participating in the sponsorship of the “Konstantinos Grafiadellis” scholarship. This annual scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student in the final year of the Imvros High School.

The scholarship is offered in honor of the late Kostas Grafiadellis, a man known for his exceptional character, deep education, and strong sense of social contribution. It aims not only to reward academic excellence but also to strengthen Greek identity in his homeland, Imvros. The Imvros Middle and High School reopened in 2015 to meet the educational needs of the island’s Greek minority. This revival was largely made possible through the initiative of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The school curriculum is bilingual (Greek and Turkish), with special emphasis on English as a third language, reflecting the multicultural nature of modern education. Most students come from families of Imvrians who returned to the island inspired by the reopening of the school, thus bringing life and hope back to the local community. The scholarship is administered through the Educational and Cultural Association of Imvros, an organization playing a pivotal role in rebuilding education on the island.
